OSLO, NORWAY; 11th October, 2016: In search of the best software solution to manage all aspects of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality – Höegh LNG assessed a total of 17 vendors and BASSnet™ Fleet Management Systems impressed them the most. After a series of workshops, BASS was chosen to provide its software solutions for Höegh LNG and its fleet-operations of floating storage and regasification units (FSRU).
Höegh LNG has previously been using another software solution for its HSSEQ management. With the BASSnet™ solution, Höegh LNG will embrace a holistic approach and manage all aspects related to safety- and risk management, audit- and inspection management, document management, certificates, work & rest hours as well as port management and related reporting.
Höegh LNG’s main objective was to identify a forward thinking solutions provider that would continue to improve its software and innovate in line with modern technology and industry requirements.
“We placed a lot of importance on ensuring that we get a partner and solution that we can rely on for the future, and we have found the right fit. The comprehensive and superior functionality, the technology of BASSnet™ and the strong customer community of reputable shipping companies made us select BASS,” said Mr. Øivin Iversen, Deputy Head of Fleet Management at Höegh LNG.
Built on the Microsoft.NET platform, BASSnet™ is a modern, up-to-date software suite that covers all areas of maritime operations. In terms of product development, BASS continually enhances its solution in close interaction with a vibrant- and experienced community of prominent customers and highly skilled staff.
“We are very proud to get Höegh LNG as customer. Focusing on FSRU, they are operating a very sophisticated fleet in one of the most challenging maritime environments. In this area, you simply cannot take lightly on HSSEQ and we are pleased to get their confirmation that BASSnet™ satisfies their needs,” said Haakon Dalan, BASS’ Vice President of Sales.
As part of the solution, Höegh LNG also selected the BASSnet™ Port Management module. Consisting of the Ports Guide and Port Forms sub-modules, it offers a complete solution for all port-related dealings. The Ports Guide provides data for more than 12,000 ports and terminals, 8,000 tanker berths and over 26,000 port service providers. The Port Forms sub-module streamlines administrative tasks related to port operations with its repository of country-specific port forms.
Since its incorporation, BASS has delivered innovative software solutions with the future in mind – such as the recently launched BASSnet™ SaaS (Software as a Service) as cloud solution for its entire software suite.
BASS, founded in 1997 with Norwegian heritage, is a leading global provider of fleet management software for ship owners and ship managers, as well as operators of rigs and floating production, storage and offloading vessels (FPSOs), and offshore units.
